While often considered the final evolution of the 308 series, the
328 was a substantially new car. Extremely high performance,
incredible Pinifarina styling, improved road holding and greater
comfort, ensured the 328’s desirability.
The 328 easily became the most successful model in Ferrari’s
history to that time. It remains highly sought after sports car
almost two decades after its introduction.

The 308’s shape bears a passing resemblance to Pininfarina’s Dino
The 308 hinted far more at the future, from its sharp nose
incorporating a slim bumper and a deep air dam, to its
retractable headlights and a row of black louvres that vent air
from the radiator, the line flows up the windshield and out around
the flanks to reunite.

Like the new 328 GTB, the Mondial's engine grew in
both bore and stroke to 3.2 L
Available in both Coupe and Cabriolet forms,
styling was refreshed with restyled and body-coloured
bumpers, similar to the 328, and new wheels.
The 3.2 also boasted a major interior update,
with a more ergonomic layout
The 1988 Mondial 3.2 would be the final model year that
retained the relatively low maintenance costs of the 308/328
drivetrain, allowing major service items like timing belt and
clutch replacement to be performed with the
engine/transmission package still in the car.

Ready for the 2000 season, Unlike the roadcar's gearbox,
the Challenge one is fitted with its own oil-cooler to reduce operating temperatures. The important connection betweenthe gearbox and engine, the clutch, is a racing synterised one.
Not only is the suspension lowered by an inch, but it is also modified to handle the added stress of driving on the track. Modifications to the road car's suspension include replacing the electronic damping system with racing Boge shock absorbers, fitting racing springs and aluminium suspension bushes, lowering the ride height by just over an inch and fitting a stiffer, 22 mm rear anti-roll bar. Further modifications on the car were focussed on reduction of weight and increasing driver safety.
Has only completed 6 hours of racing
